PHILADELPHIA -- Felician College successfully defended the game's last possession to come away with a 68-67 non-league men's basketball victory over host Chestnut Hill College on Thursday night at Sorgenti Arena.

After a Richard Fegins (Linden, NJ) free throw put Felician (8-11) ahead by two points with 28 seconds left in regulation time, Chestnut Hill worked the clock down until Julian McFadden (Philadelphia, PA) drove toward the basket and was fouled at 0:06. McFadden made the first free thow, but when he missed the second out of a Golden Falcon timeout, teammate Kevin Whaley (York, PA) grabbed the rebound. A jump shot by CHC's Trenton Davidheiser (Pottstown, PA) rimmed out, and as the teams scrambled for the rebound, the final buzzer sounded.

Freshman Kashiff Foster (Somerset, NJ) (7-11 FG) paced Felician with 16 points and 12 rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench, including a tip-in with 2:15 to play that game his team the lead for good. Classmate Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ) recorded 15 points and 10 rebounds. Davidheiser led five double-figure scorers for the Griffins (3-15) with 20 points and eight boards.

In a game which featured nine ties and 13 lead changes, neither team was ahead by more than five points at any time during the second half. Whaley (11 points, 7 rebounds) erased a five-point CHC deficit with back-to-back three-point field goals for a 61-60 Griffin lead with 3:14 to play. Foster then scored six points in a 7-2 Golden Falcon run. A three-point play by Chestnut Hill's Larz Jeter (Philadelphia, PA) made the score 67-65 in favor of Felician and set up the final sequence.

The teams will meet again this season in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest on Feb. 23.
