RUTHERFORD, N.J. – A nine-game spring break trip to Clermont, Fla., highlights the non-conference portion of the 2008 Felician College softball schedule, which was released today.
Felician has 43 games lined up for this spring, with all of the “northern” contests against Northeast Region Division-II opponents. The 22-game Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference slate includes doubleheaders against two squads, Caldwell College (home, Apr. 16) and Georgian Court University (away, Apr. 12), who finished among the top 10 in last season’s final regional rankings.
Led by seventh-year head coach Kathy Hill, Felician opens the season at home against New York Institute of Technology on Mar. 12. Four days later, the Golden Falcons depart for their trip to the National Training Center Spring Games.
"I am very excited to start the season,” Hill said. “The CACC has consistently gotten more competitive each year, and this year should be its best year yet. But it should be our best year as well. The 2008 schedule appears quite challenging on both the conference and non-conference side. We look forward to the tough competition that we will be facing.”
The Golden Falcons were 21-16 last year and tied for sixth place in the CACC. They won two games in the conference tournament before finishing fourth.
