Felician Athletics - 1/28/08 MEN'S BASKETBALL - Late Addition Barrow Shares CACC Rookie Honor

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College junior Sherrod Barrow of Harlem, N.Y., has been named a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball co-Rookie of the Week, the CACC announced today.

Despite an 0-2 week for Felician, Barrow averaged 12.0 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 64.3 percent from the field. In a Jan. 23 loss at Dominican (N.Y.) College, he shot 6 for 8 and recorded season highs of 16 points and eight rebounds. He shared the honor with Adewale Adefemi of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.

Barrow, 24, is a second-semester enrollee who has never before played organized basketball. A 6-foot-7 forward/center, he has appeared in eight games, starting five, for the 7-11 Golden Falcons, and has contributed 6.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game with a .568 field-goal percentage. A 2002 graduate of Legacy High, he has grown nine inches since that time. He owns an associate’s degree from LaGuardia Community College in Queens, N.Y.
