ORANGEBURG, N.Y. -- The Dominican (N.Y.) College men's basketball team shot 58.5 percent from the floor and made 10 of 21 three-point attempts in its 93-81 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division victory over visiting Felician College on Wednesday night on Coach Baxter Court.

Dominican (9-8, 4-3) extended a 45-35 halftime lead to as much as a 21-point advantage with 11:57 to play in regulation. Felician, however, helped by 31 second-half free-throw attempts, was able to close to within nine points on three occasions, the last time at 89-80 at the 0:36 mark. The Chargers then went 4 for 4 at the foul line on their final two possessions to close out the victory. Dominican shot nearly 61 percent in the second half.

Jonathan Guzman (Rutherford, NJ) (4-7 3FG) led five Charger double-figure scorers with 17 points, and teammate Will Carty (Bronx, NY) (5-6 FG) scored 14. For Felician, which fell to 7-10 and 2-6, second-semester enrollee Rod Barrow (Harlem, NY) shot 6 for 8 in recording season highs of 16 points and eight rebounds, while senior Jason Romer (New York, NY) also had 16 points and eight boards.

The first half featured five ties and five lead changes, but a three-pointer by Dominican's Damien Davis (Windsor, CT) with 28 seconds remaining allowed his team to match its largest lead of the period heading into halftime. The Chargers closed the half with a 12-3 run over the final 3:49.
