WATERBURY, CONN. -- Post University made an early lead stand up for a 77-63 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division women's basketball victory over visiting Felician College on Tuesday evening at the Drubner Center. It was Post's second victory over Felician in six days.
The Eagles (3-11, 3-4) received 22 points and 11 rebounds from junior forward Stephanie Goss (Manchester, CT), who made 8 of 12 field goal attempts. Mallorie Michalak (Meriden, CT) scored 15 points with eight rebounds for Post, who put four scorers in double figures. Junior forward Janelle Biamonte (Secaucus, NJ) led Felician with 22 points, and Dee Dee Smith (Monticello, NY) had 19 points and eight boards. Post shot 52 percent from the field for the night.
Post, which never trailed, extended a 22-19 lead with seven minutes, 44 seconds, left in the first half, to 31-20 at the 5:04 mark. The Eagles led by as many as 15 points in the first period and 39-28 at halftime. They then put the game away with a 13-3 run to start the second half, as Felician (3-12, 1-6) never drew closer than a 12-point deficit in the final 20 minutes.
