PHILADELPHIA – The Felician College men’s basketball team shot a season-high 56.6 percent from the floor in its 78-50 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over host University of the Sciences in Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon at Morgan Arena.

Felician (6-6, 1-2) saw a 38-23 halftime lead cut to nine points with seven minutes gone by in the second half. But two three-point field goals by Golden Falcon sophomore Nijel Robinson (Plainsboro, NJ) book-ended an 11-0 run, putting his team ahead, 53-33, with 11:02 to play. USP never drew closer than 13 points after that, with the final 28-point margin Felician’s largest lead of the day. The Golden Falcons shot 65.2 percent in the second half, and a season-best 45.5 percent from three-point range (10-22) for the afternoon.

Robinson finished with eight points and a team-high five rebounds in his first start of the season. Felician’s Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ) (8-13 FG) led all scorers with 18 points, and Derrell Thomas (Harlem, NY) (3-4 3FG) added 11. The Golden Falcon defense, which yielded a season-low point total, held the Devils to 35.4 percent shooting and forced 22 turnovers.

Shane Connor (Canadensis, PA) led the hosts (4-5, 1-2) with 14 points and seven rebounds.
