PHILADELPHIA – It its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game in nearly a month, the Felician College women’s basketball team dropped a 73-38 decision to host University of the Sciences in Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon at Morgan Arena.

USP (3-6, 2-1), which shot 56 percent from the floor, received 18 points on 8-for-9 shooting from sophomore center Erin Chesnavich (Pittston, PA). Caitlin Shaw (Eatontown, NJ) (7-11 FG) scored 16 points off the bench, and Allison Weiss (Springfield, PA) finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Senior forward Dee Dee Smith (Monticello, NY) paced Felician with 13 points.

The Devils, who never trailed, owned leads of 11-1 just under seven minutes into the game and 23-5 with 7:28 to play in the opening period. A shooting advantage of 58-24 percent gave USP a halftime advantage of 35-11, and the Golden Falcons (2-9, 0-3) were unable to cut their deficit under 22 points thereafter.
