Felician Athletics - 1/2/08 MEN'S BASKETBALL - Young Earns Third CACC Rookie Honor

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshman Devon Young of Monmouth Junction has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week, the CACC announced today. It is the third such honor for Young this season.

The CACC considered games from Dec. 17 to Jan. 1 for today’s award. Young, a 6-foot-3 forward, helped Felician to a 2-1 record, all in road contests, during that time. He averaged 16.7 points and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 46.7 percent from the field. In a Dec. 21 victory at Southern Connecticut State University, he scored a season-high 28 points, including a game-winning jump shot in the final second for a 75-74 win.

Young is the leading scorer for the 5-6 Golden Falcons. Starting all 11 games, he has amassed 17.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists in a team-high 33.4 minutes per contest. He is a 2007 graduate of South Brunswick High. More information is available here.
