Felician Athletics - 12/17/07 MEN'S BASKETBALL - Men's Basketball Picks Up First Road Win

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. -- Felician College received 22 points and 11 rebounds from senior guard Jason Romer (New York, NY/Wadleigh) in its 78-70 non-conference men's basketball victory over host Molloy College on Monday night at Quealy Gymnasium.

Felician (4-5) survived 54-percent first-half shooting by Molloy to take a 37-33 lead into halftime. The decisive stretch of the game came when the Golden Falcons, still leading by five with just under 13 minutes to play, embarked on an 11-2 run over the next two minutes, 16 seconds, for a 63-49 advantage. Felician maintained a double-digit lead until fewer than two-and-a-half minutes showed on the clock, then made 7 of 10 free throws to help close out its first road win in five tries this season.

In addition to Romer's career-high in rebounding, the Golden Falcons got 17 points from freshman Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick). Point guard Derrell Thomas (Harlem, NY/Manhattan Center) posted nine points, seven rebounds and nine assists.

Vincent Falzone (Middle Village, NY) had 19 points and 19 rebounds and Glenn Martin (Brooklyn, NY) also scored 19 for the Lions (6-4).
