RUTHERFORD, N.J. – High school seniors Jessica Ford of Jersey City and Brittany Turner of Belleville have signed national letters of intent to continue their basketball careers at Felician College, Felician head women’s coach Ben DiNallo Jr. announced today. Both players committed to Felician during the NCAA’s recently-concluded early signing period for basketball.
Ford, a 6-foot-1 forward/center, was a second-team all-Hudson County selection as a junior at St. Anthony High of Jersey City, where she also plays softball. A four-year starter in basketball, she helped the Friars to the 2007 North Parochial B championship. Ford, who also plays for the AAU New Jersey Dream, intends to double major in communications and psychology.
Turner was all-conference and third-team all-county last season for Queen of Peace High of North Arlington. A 5-foot-9 shooting guard/small forward, she has been named the Golden Griffins’ Most Improved Player in basketball, cross-country, and outdoor track & field over her career. She is a member of the AAU New York Gazelles. Turner expects to study criminal justice at Felician.
“We are excited to get players of the level of Jessica and Brittany,” DiNallo said. “They both have had success in their high school and AAU careers, and each of them have the ability to make an impact here during their freshman campaigns.” |
