Felician Athletics - 12/1/07 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - Felician Begins CACC Play With Loss

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Felician College women’s basketball team committed 33 turnovers in its 99-69 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division loss to visiting Caldwell College on Saturday afternoon at Job Gymnasium. The game began conference play for both schools.

Caldwell (3-1, 1-0), which never trailed, opened the game with leads of 16-5 and 34-18 en route to a 51-32 halftime advantage. The Cougars shot 53 percent from the floor and forced 20 Golden Falcon turnovers in the opening period. Caldwell scored the first five points of the second half and Felician never drew closer than a 19-point deficit the rest of the day. The Cougars scored 41 points off of Felician miscues.

Junior forward Mackenzie Lynch (Wayne, NJ/DePaul Catholic) posted game highs of 26 points (7-10 FG, 11-14 FT), eight rebounds and five assists for the Cougars. Dana Leary (Bridgewater, NJ/Immaculata) (6-9 FG) had 12 points off the bench. Janelle Biamonte (Secaucus, NJ/Marist) led Felician (1-4, 0-1) with 13 points and three assists.
