SPARKILL, N.Y. -- The St. Thomas Aquinas Aquinas men's basketball team shot 58 percent and owned a 45-21 rebounding advantage in its 82-65 non-conference victory over visiting Felician College on Wednesday night at Aquinas Hall.
STAC (2-2), which never trailed, extended a 38-30 halftime lead to 54-39 in the first seven minutes of the second half. Felician forced 21 turnovers for the night, but was never again able to trim its deficit to single digits. The Spartans followed up a 64-percent first-half shooting percentage with a 53-percent clip in period two.
Senior Ra Chase (West Haverstraw, NY) came off the bench to record game highs of 26 points (12-16 FG) and 11 rebounds for STAC. Teammate Jelani Winfield (Woodside, NY) contributed 13 points and eight boards. Freshman Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ) topped the 3-3 Golden Falcons with 21 points.
