 ROBINSON RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College put six scorers in double figures in its 97-58 non-conference men’s basketball victory over visiting University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras on Saturday night at Job Gymnasium.
Senior forward James Harper (Eatontown, NJ/Long Branch finished with 17 points, a career-high 17 rebounds and three blocks for Felician (3-2). Golden Falcon Nijel Robinson (Plainsboro, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) had a career-high 17 points in 18 minutes. Senior guard Jason Romer (New York, NY/Wadleigh) recorded his first collegiate "double-double" with 12 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, while Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) added 15 points for the winners.
Felician led, 29-8, with just over 10 minutes elapsed in the game and were never challenged thereafter. The Golden Falcons, who were up, 48-22, at halftime, held UPRRP to 25 percent shooting in the first half, including 1 of 11 on three-point attempts. Harper had a double-double before intermission with 10 points and 10 caroms. Felician was ahead by as many as 47 points in the second period.
Juan Reyes (Dorado, P.R./Bayamon Military) posted 17 points and 10 rebounds and Pedro Minaya (Carolina, P.R./Deportes Carolina) (6-8 FG) put up 13 points and eight boards for the 0-6 Gallitos.
