LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Led by a 56th place finish from freshman Toni Fowler (Mount Holly, NJ), the Felician women's cross-country team ended its season by placing 17th out of 29 schools at the NCAA Division II East Regional Championship on Saturday morning on the campus of Lock Haven University.
Fowler completed the 6,000-meter course in 23 minutes, 28 seconds. She ran 1:13 faster than her only other 6K race this season, and was fourth among Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference entrants. Teammate Amanda Scibetta (Middletown, NJ) was 87th overall out of 179 runners in 24:09.
Also scoring for the Golden Falcons were freshman Sarah Root (Aberdeen, NJ) (108th, 24:49), senior Melissa Barroqueiro (Carteret, NJ) (115th, 24:59), and sophomore Sophia Chick (Edison, NJ) (125th, 25:37).
Felician finished third out of eight CACC schools in attendance, scoring 469 points. Bloomsburg University won the regional championship with 62 points, and Rachel Lanzel of Edinboro University was the individual champion in 20:57. |
