Felician Athletics - 10/27/07 VOLLEYBALL - HFU Serves Past Felician In Four

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Holy Family University volleyball team had 16 service aces in its 3-1 (30-18, 30-22, 25-30, 30-24) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference interdivisional volleyball victory over host Felician College on Saturday afternoon at Job Gymnasium.

After dropping the first two games, Felician (4-21, 4-11) hit .209 in winning Game 3 and was even at 17-17 in Game 4 before Holy Family pulled away for a 24-18 lead. The Golden Falcons scored the next three points out of a timeout, but never drew closer before the Tigers ended the match.

Junior Jennifer O’Connor (Wilmington, DE/St. Elizabeth) paced HFU (15-19, 13-3) with 23 kills, nine digs and five aces. Lauren Gosnell (Tipton, IN/Tipton) added 21 kills, and setter Aimee Drabyn (Avon, IN/Avon) had 56 assists and nine digs.

Dee Dee Smith (Monticello, NY/Monticello) led Felician with 17 kills and Keisha Milstrey (Bronx, NY/Lehman) recorded 15 kills and nine digs. Milstrey, Nicole Niedzwicki (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Catholic), Ashley Patterson (Baltimore, MD/Northern) and Smith were honored in pre-match Senior Day festivities.
