Felician Athletics - 10/25/07 WOMEN'S SOCCER - Women's Soccer Completes Season With Loss

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- The Mercy College women's soccer team scored two goals in a two minute, four second, stretch of the first half and held on for a 2-1 non-conference victory over visiting Felician College on Thursday afternoon. The match marks the end of the 2007 season for Felician with a won-lost-tied record of 5-12-1.

Freshman Delmara Reece (Yonkers, NY) scored both Mercy goals, getting free on a breakaway in the 20th minute, and finishing after a pass from Megan McKim (Cortlandt Manor, NY) at 21:47. The Mavericks took the 2-0 edge into halftime.

Felician's Jenn Ghiroli (Branford, CT) scored after a defensive miscue by Mercy with 24:50 left to play, but the Mavericks (2-9) outshot the Golden Falcons, 6-2, from that point forward in securing the victory. Mercy goalkeeper Catherine Kowalski (Melville, NY) earned the victory with eight saves, and Felician's Amanda Musarra (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) also stoppped eight shots.
