Felician Athletics - 10/22/07 VOLLEYBALL - GCU Downs Felician In Three

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Regionally-ranked Georgian Court University remained undefeated in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play with a 3-0 (31-29, 30-16, 30-23) CACC interdivision victory over host Felician College on Monday night at Job Gymnasium.

Felician (3-20, 3-10) had saved two game points in a tightly-contested first game before Georgian Court’s Ann Casado (Brick, NJ/Brick Township) broke a 29-29 tie with back-to-back kills for the win. GCU (22-8, 13-0) jumped out to leads of 11-2 and 21-7 en route to its Game 2 triumph, then pulled away from an 18-18 third game tie with 12 of the final 17 points.

Casado came off the bench to record match highs of 13 kills and four service aces. Billeny Rivera (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico/Superior Catolica) amassed 12 kills, nine digs and three blocks and Heather Walker (Hanover, Ontario/Diefenbaker) added 35 assists for the winners, who are in first place in the CACC South Division and are the No. 6 team in the most recent Division II Northeast Regional ranking.

Seniors Dee Dee Smith (Monticello, NY/Monticello) (three blocks) and Keisha Milstrey (Bronx, NY/Lehman) had 12 kills apiece for the Golden Falcons.
