RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Philadelphia University women’s soccer team remained unbeaten in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play with a 4-1 league victory over host Felician College on Saturday afternoon at Tryon Field.
Philadelphia (11-4, 9-0) received the deciding score from freshman Sara Redka (Williamsport, PA/Williamsport Area) in the 29th minute. After the teams had posted unassisted goals two minutes, 15 seconds, apart earlier in the first half, Christy Bauckman (Silver Spring, MD/Good Counsel) sent a long ball down the right wing. Redka ran to it, dribbled ahead, and put a high, bending shot into the net. The Rams took the 2-1 edge into halftime.
The Philadelphia defense limited Felician to four shot attempts for the afternoon, and the Rams sealed the victory with goals in the 76th and 83rd minutes. Brianna Reinford (Gilbertsville, PA/Pottsgrove) had two goals and Melissa McMullen (Easthampton, NJ/Holy Cross) the other for Philadelphia, which is tied with Holy Family University for first place in the CACC.
Junior Lindsey Petry (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny Regional) scored and Amanda Musarra (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ/Hasbrouck Heights) made seven saves for the Golden Falcons (5-10-1, 3-7).
