DosSANTOS BLOOMFIELD, N.J. -- The Felician men's soccer team defeated host Bloomfield College, 3-0, in CACC action at Watsessing Park on Thursday afternoon to earn its third consecutive victory.
Felician goalkeeper Paulo DosSantos (Toronto, Ontario) needed 10 saves for his first shutout of the season, as his team was outshot by Bloomfield, 19-12. DosSantos is among the top 10 nationally in NCAA Division II in saves per game. The win also kept the Golden Falcons (3-13-2, 2-5-1) alive in the race for the sixth and final playoff spot in the CACC.
Bloomfield (1-10-2, 0-4-2) was called for six offside violations in the first eight minutes of play. Shortly thereafter, Felician's Jorge Cedeno (Lodi, NJ) split two defenders with a through-ball to Boris Shabovta (Manalapan, NJ), who scored to give his team the lead at 9:51.
The Golden Falcons carried the one-goal edge into halftime, then tallied on a header from Lukas Fraczek (Szczytno, Poland) in the 66th minute, and a touch-shot from Godlove Takyi (Hackensack, NJ) in the 77th. Midfielder Peter Snihur (Ilawa, Poland) assisted on both plays. Julian Gaviria (Medillin, Colombia) had three saves in 76 minutes for the Deacons. |
