Felician Athletics - 10/15/07 GOLF - Felician 10th At Charger Challenge

SUFFERN, N.Y. -- The Felician golf team ended its fall season with a 10th place finish at the Charger Challenge, hosted by Dominican (N.Y.) College on Sunday and Monday at Spook Rock Golf Club.

The Golden Falcons shot a four-man total of 360 on Sunday and 366 on Monday for a 150-over-par total of 726. They finished 17 strokes ahead of Philadelphia University in the 11-school, 36-hole event. Pace University was the team champion at 612. Felician was sixth of seven Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference teams in attendance.

Freshman Joe Leardo (Belleville, NJ) was the high man for Felician, shooting a 22-over-par 166 (83-83) to tie for 39th place out of 54 competitors. Also contributing to the team scoring were sophomore Joe Peters (Barnegat, NJ) (45th, 81-95-176), junior Albie Sanguiliano (Flemington, NJ) (48th, 96-94-190), and sophomore Rob Young (Glendale, NY) (51st, 100-94-194).

Brian Mackey of Dominican, Lee Wanklyn of Post University, and Mike Dominici of Pace tied for medalist honors with 150 on the 6,894-yard course.
