Felician Athletics - 10/13/07 WOMEN'S SOCCER - Women's Soccer Blanks Chestnut Hill, 5-0

PHILADELPHIA -- The Felician women's soccer team earned its first shutout of the season on Saturday afternoon with a 5-0 CACC road victory over Chestnut Hill College at CHC Field.

Felician (5-8-1, 3-5) took a 2-0 lead just three minutes, four seconds, into the contest when freshman D.J. Jacobowitz (Staten Island, NY) scored twice in a 36 second span. Senior Cassandra Murphy (Staten Island, NY) tallied with 2:12 remaining in the first period to give the Golden Falcons a three-goal halftime lead.

Meanwhile, the Felician defense, backed by goalkeeper Amanda Musarra (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) made the lead stand up. Musarra needed six saves to earn the shutout, and the Golden Falcons built a 29-11 shot advantage.

Lindsey Petry (Newton, NJ) and Dara Klatsky (Nutley, NJ) added insurance goals late in the second half, and Christine Warren (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) had three assists for the Golden Falcons. Kelly Evans, the Division II national leader in saves per game, had 15 saves for Chestnut Hill (0-12-1, 0-7-1).
