RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Felician College volleyball team saved a match point in Game 3 and another in Game 4 before bowing to visiting Concordia (N.Y.) College, 3-1 (30-24, 30-26, 29-31, 30-25), in non-conference action Friday night at Job Gymnasium.
Trailing 2-0 and 29-28, Felician (3-16) won the last three points of the third game to extend the match. The Golden Falcons scored once after trailing 29-24 in Game 4 before a kill by Concordia’s Maddy Lorenz (Spokane, WA) ended the night. The Clippers had jumped out to a 19-8 Game 1 lead, then scored the last three points to close out Game 2.
Shannon Flaherty (Spokane, WA) paced Concordia (10-10) with 64 assists and 21 digs. Lorenz (15 digs) and Tiffany Edwards (Baytown, TX) (14 digs, seven assists) each put down a match high 22 kills. Dee Dee Smith (Monticello, NY) led the Golden Falcons with 18 kills and five blocks. |
