Amanda Scibetta was named CACC Runner of the Week on Oct. 8
RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College junior Amanda Scibetta of Middletown has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women’s Cross-Country Runner of the Week, the CACC announced today. Felician freshman Toni Fowler of Mount Holly was selected as CACC Rookie of the Week.

Scibetta and Fowler were clocked at identical times of 20 minutes, 20 seconds, for 5,000 meters (3.1 miles) at the Monmouth University Invitational, held Friday evening at Holdmel Park in Holmdel. Scibetta, who crossed the finish line a fraction of a second ahead for Fowler, ended up in eighth place out of 62 runners, and Fowler was ninth. They were the first two non-Division-I entrants to finish, and the 20:20 was a career-low time for each.

Felician would have finished third in the team standings had the meet combined Division I results with Division II/III entrants. It is the first time this season that a Golden Falcon has won a women’s cross-country weekly award. Scibetta is a 2004 graduate of Middletown North, while Fowler is a 2007 product of Rancocas Valley.
