Felician Athletics - 10/7/07 MEN'S SOCCER - New Haven Shuts Out Golden Falcons

WEST HAVEN, Conn. -- Despite a 23-19 shot advantage, the Felician men's soccer team went down to a 3-0 non-conference defeat to host University of New Haven on Sunday afternoon at Dodds Stadium.

Tyler Smith's chip from the right side gave New Haven (5-7) a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute of action, and the Chargers took that edge into halftime. Smith struck again at 65:43, volleying home a cross from teammate John Nolan. Felician, meanwhile, wasted a 15-7 second-half edge in shot attempts, and put only six of its 23 shots for the day on goal. The Chargers' Trent McCaskill scored with 2:45 remaining to seal the victory.

UNH's James Hilaire made six saves in 85 minutes. Nick Lyons (Jackson, NJ) had four saves for the Golden Falcons (0-12-2).
