HOLMDEL, N.J. -- Senior Mike Burghoffer (Stockholm, NJ), a two-time all-CACC performer, was the frontrunner for the Felician men's cross-country team for the first time this season during the Monmouth University Invitational on Friday evening at Holmdel Park.

Monmouth had announced well before the meet that Division II-III institutions would be scored separately from Division I schools. However, Felician was the only non-Division I team to enter the race. Had the scoring been combined, the Golden Falcons would have finished fourth out of six, ahead of Delaware State University and Saint Peter's College.

With times high due to the steep, unforgiving hills of Holmdel Park, Burghoffer finished 17th out of 53 entrants, traversing 8,000 meters in 28 minutes, 55 seconds. Brad Schepise (Milltown, NJ) was 19th in 29:11. Rounding out the Golden Falcons' scoring were seniors Brian McDonnell (Kearny, NJ) (21st, 29:26) and Alex Wright (Stockholm, NJ) (29:32) and freshman Chris Harvey (Maplewood, NJ) (29:59).
