LAKEWOOD, N.J. -- The Felician women's soccer team surrendered a 34-10 shot advantage to host Georgian Court University in its 8-2 CACC loss to the Lions on Friday afternoon on the GCU campus.
Georgian Court (9-6, 6-1), the CACC's second place team, scored four times in each half and featured eight different goal scorers. The Lions took a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes of action before Felician's Christine Warren (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) cut into her team's deficit with a 37th minute goal. GCU, however, tallied again 48 seconds before halftime, then destroyed the Golden Falcons' comeback hopes with two goals in the first 11 minutes of period two.
Allison Abbate (Oceanport, NJ) and Caitlyn Schultheis (Tinton Falls, NJ) each registered a goal and two assists for the Lions, and goalkeeper Lindsay Hammond (Brunswick, ME) earned the victory with six saves. Amanda Musarra (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) made 11 saves in just 45 minutes for Felician (4-7-1, 2-4) and D.J. Jacobowitz (Staten Island, NY) had a goal. |
