PHILADELPHIA -- Despite an 83 from freshman Joe Leardo (Belleville, NJ) in his collegiate debut, the Felician golf team lost to the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, 376-379, in a dual match hosted by the Devils at Island Green Country Club.
Leardo tied Felician sophomore Joe Peters (Barnegat, NJ) for the low round of the day on the 6,615-yard course. But the Devils put all four of their scorers between 84 and 106. USP (2-4) turned a six-stroke deficit at the turn into a 10-stroke lead after 16 holes before holding on.
Junior and first-year college player Albie Sanguiliano (Flemington, NJ) shot 94 for the Golden Falcons (0-1).
