RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Holy Family University earned a 4-3 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men’s soccer victory over host Felician College on Saturday afternoon at Tryon Field.
Holy Family (6-4, 2-0) snapped a 2-2 tie with goals in the 56th and 65th minutes. Felician pulled to within 4-3 with 5:25 left in regulation when Jason James (Charlotte, NC/Millbrook School [NY]) headed home Lukas Fraczek’s (Szczytno, Poland/Winchendon School[MA]) free kick, but neither team got a shot attempt off the rest of the way.
Freshman Sean Hordijenko’s (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) goal for HFU at 64:59 proved to be the difference in the game. Hordijenko and Jim Latronica (Levittown, PA/Conwell-Egan) each had a goal and an assist. Felician (0-8-2, 0-2-1) never led, but twice recovered from one-goal deficits to tie the game. The Golden Falcons’ Peter Snihur (Ilawa, Poland/Winchendon School [MA]) scored with 37 seconds remaining in the first half to make the score 1-1 at halftime. |
