RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshman Jeromy “Jay” Rodgers of Westmont has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Cross-Country Rookie of the Week, the CACC announced today.

Making his collegiate debut, Rodgers finished in 50th place out of 238 entrants, and third among Felician runners, at Saturday’s New York University Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. He completed the 8,000-meter course in 28 minutes, eight seconds. Rodgers is a 2007 graduate of Haddon Township High.

The Golden Falcons finished eighth out of 23 schools in the team standings at NYU, and first among the four CACC members in attendance. Rodgers is the first Felician student-athlete to win a CACC weekly award in 2007-08, and the first Felician cross-country runner to be the conference Rookie of the Week since the honor was instituted last season.

The Golden Falcons’ frontrunner on Saturday, Brad Schepise of Milltown, was selected to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll for the second consecutive week. More information is available at caccathletics.org.
