SPRINGFIELD, N.J. -- The Felician women's soccer team fell victim to a 23-10 shot disavantage in its season-opening 3-0 non-conference loss to host American International College on Saturday afternoon at AIC Park.
A Morgan Mastronardi (Corunna, Ontario) goal gave the Yellow Jackets (2-1) a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. AIC's Joanne Germano (West Springfield, MA) then stifled Felician's comeback attempt with two second-half tallies. Goalkeeper Danielle Hodecker (West Springfield, MA) earned the shutout with six saves, including stopping two second half breakaways. Two other shots by the Golden Falcons' Lindsey Petry (Newton, NJ) and Aleshia Jijon (Rochelle Park, NJ) hit the crossbar.
Junior Amanda Musarra (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) made seven saves for Felician. |
