Felician Athletics - 9/1/07 MEN'S CROSS-COUNTRY - Men Sixth At Monmouth Kickoff

LINCROFT, N.J. -- Senior Paul Chegwidden (Hamburg, NJ) crossed 11th out of 69 entrants as the Felician men's cross-country team finished sixth in the season-opening Monmouth University Kickoff on Saturday morning at Thompson Park.

The course spanned 6,000 meters (3.7 miles), 2K shorter than the usual regular-season distance, and Chegwidden ran it in 19 minutes, 35.8 seconds. He missed the top 10 by 2.7 seconds. Sophomore Brad Schepise (Milltown, NJ) finished 20th in 19:54.1, helping the Golden Falcons end up second out of three non Division-I schools in attendance.

Also scoring for Felician were senior Mike Burghoffer (Stockholm, NJ) (26th, 20:09.6), senior Brian McDonnell (Kearny, NJ) (36th, 20:30.7), and senior Alex Wright (Stockholm, NJ) (39th, 20:39.1).

Division III New York University won the meet with 40 points, 31 better than runner-up University at Albany. The Golden Falcons scored 131 points.
