Felician Athletics - 8/14/07 VOLLEYBALL- Felician Nabs Three North Jersey Recruits

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Recent high school graduates Sam Ament of Little Falls, Amber Doran of Little Ferry, and Leanne Sleboda of North Arlington have signed national letters of intent to continue their volleyball careers at Felician College, Felician head coach Alan Clements announced today.

Ament was a National Honor Society member at Passaic Valley High, where she also played basketball. A 5-foot-7 defensive specialist, she intends to double-major in education and history at Felician.

Doran was a first-team all-league selection in softball, basketball, and volleyball at Ridgefield Park High, and was also a first-team all-North Jersey honoree in volleyball. She has also signed to play softball at Felician. Her older sister, Nicole, is a former two-sport athlete for the Golden Falcons. She will major in special education.

Sleboda, a 5-foot-6 outside hitter, twice received honorable-mention all-Bergen County Scholastic League honors at Queen of Peace High, and was also an all-BCSL softball player. She expects to study education and English.

Felician is a fourth-year program that will be led by first-year head coach Clements. The Golden Falcons are NCAA Division II members of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.
