Frank QuintanaRUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Felician College's Frank Quintana (Miami, FL/South Miami) has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Baseball Player of the Year, according to balloting released today. It is Quintana's fourth 2007 Player of the Year award.

Quintana, a senior first-baseman, hit .405 and set single-season school records with 16 homeruns, 59 runs scored, and 59 runs batted in while starting all 49 of his team's games. He led the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in six statistical categories, including stolen bases (23). He is Felician's all-time leader in homers (35), runs and RBI.

Earlier this summer, Quintana was named CACC Player of the Year, New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association Division II/II Player of the Year, and Daktronics Division II Northeast Region Player of the Year. He was also voted to two other all-region teams, and was selected as a Daktronics D-II Honorable-Mention All-American. He led the Golden Falcons to a 23-26 overall record, a tie for second place in the CACC, and the program's sixth CACC Tournament appearance in its eight years of existence.

The ECAC is the nation's largest athletic conference with 320 members from all three NCAA Divisions, spanning from Maine to North Carolina and west to Illinois. It contains more than 40 Division II baseball-playing institutions.
