Felician Athletics - 7/18/07 BASEBALL - DiBenedetti, Noval Named ABCCL All-Stars

MIDDLETOWN, N.J. -- Felician College rising juniors Vinnie DiBenedetti (Forked River, NJ/Lacey Township) and Jordan Noval (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) have been named to the All-Star Teams of the Atlantic Baseball Confederation Collegiate League (ABCCL).

The ABCCL is a wood-bat summer league limited to players with college eligibility remaining. Its eight teams are based in central New Jersey. The 2007 ABCCL All-Star Game was held last Thursday at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, home of the Class A Lakewood BlueClaws.

DiBenedetti, an outfielder, is batting .237 in 20 games for the Freehold Clippers. He has two doubles, one homerun, and nine runs scored. He was Felician's starting centerfielder, batting .267 with six homers, 41 runs, 23 RBI and 21 stolen bases in 43 games during his sophomore college season.

Noval, a catcher, is hitting .309 with three doubles, a homer, 12 runs and 13 runs batted in for the Jersey Shore Tides, playing in 28 games. He hit .278 in 26 games for the Golden Falcons, including Felician's only 5-hit game of the season.

Felician has placed five returning players in the ABCCL in 2007.
