RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Tommy Crews of Miami, Fla., Marcus McCleod of East Windsor and Mickey Zudonyi of Holmdel have signed national letters of intent to continue their baseball careers at Felician College, head coach Chris Langan announced today.
“All three of these young men will significantly upgrade our team defense and speed,” said Langan, entering his fifth season. “We are thrilled to be adding guys with such raw athleticism and ability.”
Crews was the starting shortstop for Monsignor Pace, the No. 27-ranked high school team in the nation by Baseball America. He was selected to the Dade/Broward All-Star Game, and was also an all-county kicker in football. Crews owns an 8.0 rating (out of 10) from the national scouting service Perfect Game USA. He expects to major in biology at Felician in the College’s pre-medical track.
McCleod was an honorable-mention all-conference selection as an outfielder at Hightstown High, and was given his team’s outstanding achievement award in 2007. He also plays for Hightstown American Legion Post 148. He intends to study business administration.
Zudonyi, a 5-foot-10 infielder, was an all-division selection at Holmdel High. As a junior, he led the Asbury Park Press’s coverage area in batting average, hits, homeruns and runs batted in. He has also been an American Legion all-star. He is undecided on a major.
Felician posted a 23-26 won-lost record in 2007, tying for second place in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with a 10-6 league record. The Division II Golden Falcons qualified for the CACC Tournament for the second consecutive season and the sixth time in the eight-year history of the program. |
