Felician Athletics - 6/6/07 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - DeFalco, Gilmartin Sign With Felician

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – High school seniors Breanne DeFalco of East Brunswick and Shannon Gilmartin of Port Monmouth have signed national letters of intent to continue their basketball careers at Felician College, Golden Falcons’ head women’s coach Ben DiNallo Jr. announced today.

DeFalco, a 5-foot-8 guard, played for coach Katie Whalen at East Brunswick High, and is also a member of the AAU Tiny Green Shoreshots. Her sister, Lauren, is a scholarship player for Division-I Iona College. DeFalco, who intends to study education at Felician, is the daughter of Bill and Kari DeFalco.

Gilmartin was a two-year captain for coach Darren Ault at Mater Dei High, where she also played field hockey. A 5-foot-4 point guard, she led the Seraphs in assists and steals for each of the last three seasons. Gilmartin is a member of the Jersey Shore Wildcats AAU program. The daughter of William and Joan Gilmartin, she expects to major in accounting.

Felician, an NCAA Division II program, is a member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.
