RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Felician College first-baseman Frank Quintana (Miami, FL/South Miami) was named to the Division II All-Northeast Region First Team by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, according to balloting released last Wednesday. It is Quintana's third all-region honor this postseason.
Following a season in which he hit .405 and set single-season school records for runs (59), runs batted in (59) and homeruns (16), Quintana has been named Player of the Year by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association, and the Daktronics All-Region Program. He was a first-team Daktronics All-Region selection, and a second-team choice to the Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association squad.
Quintana, a senior, is the first NCAA All-American in any sport in school history, having been an honorable-mention selection to the Daktronics All-America teams last week.
