RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Felician senior Frank Quintana of Miami, Fla., has been named Division II Baseball Player of the Week by the Eastern College Athletic Conference and Division II/III Player of the Week by the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association.

In six games from Apr. 30-May 6, Quintana went 11 for 20 with two doubles, four homeruns, 13 runs scored, and 14 runs batted in. During the week he stroked his 200th career hit, and broke the Felician records for RBIs in a season (59) and a career (146). He slugged 1.250 and had a .735 on-base percentage.

Quintana was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Week on Monday. He is just the second Felician student-athlete in any sport to earn an ECAC Player of the Week honor in 2006-07, joining Michael Pierrot of men's basketball.

Also on Wedneday, Felician freshman infielder Richard Melendez, also of Miami, was chosen as the NJCBA D-II/III Rookie Player of the Week. Melendez hit .429 on the week with five doubles and seven RBI, and was named CACC Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Felician went 5-1 on the week, all in CACC contests, to earn the No. 3 seed in the CACC Tournament, which starts on Thursday.
