WILMINGTON, Del. -- The Felician College softball team won two games, 7-2 and 4-1, against host Goldey-Beacom College in CACC action on Sunday afternoon. Combined with other conference results over the weekend, the doubleheheader sweep keeps Felician (17-14, 9-11) alive for a CACC Tournament berth.

Felician's CACC doubleheader at Philadelphia University on Friday was rained out and rescheduled for Monday at 3 p.m., and is the only regular-season league action remaining. Should the Golden Falcons win both games on Monday, they would beat out 11-11 Dominican (N.Y.) College in a tiebreaker for the No. 6 seed in the six-team playoff.

In Sunday's first game, Felician broke a 2-2 tie with a four-run fifth inning, putting its first six batters on base. Hope Van Dyke (West Milford, NJ) had a go-ahead run scoring single, winning pitcher Nicole Broecker (Staten Island, NY) drew a bases-loaded walk, and Meredith Rainer (Wantage, NJ) capped the rally with a two-run double.

Broecker (6-4) went the distance on a five-hitter, allowing one earned run with four strikeouts and three walks. Rainer was 2 for 3 with four runs batted in, and Van Dyke went 2 for 4. Sarah Gehman (Royersford, PA) had two hits for Goldey-Beacom (4-32, 1-21).

The Golden Falcons' Dara DeSocio (Cliffside Park, NJ) (7-6) came within one out of a shutout in Game 2, allowing an unearned run in the seventh inning and scattering eight hits. Nicole Degenhardt (Secaucus, NJ) had an RBI triple in the top of the first, and Brittany Taylor (Saddle Brook, NJ) went 2 for 3 with two RBI. Jenna Krowl (Kearny, NJ) was 2 for 3 with a double and scored twice.

Losing pitcher Kendra Russell (New Castle, DE) went 3 for 3 for the Lightning.
