Chris Flynn homered twice on Tuesday.
BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Senior Chris Flynn (Keyport, NJ) homered twice and classmate Ray Rose (Piscataway, NJ) hit a three-run homerun as Felician College defeated host Concordia (N.Y.) College, 8-6, in non-conference baseball action on Tuesday afternoon at Clipper Field.

Felician (17-21) scored first on a solo homer to left field by Flynn in the top of the second inning, but Concordia tied the score on Jake Irwin's (Cornwall, NY) run-scoring single in the fourth. Flynn's second roundtripper was the first hit in a three-run sixth inning rally, and Rose's blast capped a four-run eighth which gave the Golden Falcons an 8-1 lead.

Concordia, however, chased Felician starter Danny Conti (Matawan, NJ) (1-2) by putting the first two runners on in the eighth, then used two hits and a Golden Falcon error to score three times. Rightfielder Kenny Vanderhee (Aventura, FL) threw out a runner attempting to score in the ninth inning, but Concordia still brought the tying run to the plate with one out before reliever Scott VanEs (Secaucus, NJ) induced two groundouts.

Freshman left-hander Conti earned his first career victory by allowing three runs on four hits over seven-plus innings. He struck out two and walked four. Flynn and Vanderhee were each 3 for 5.
