Frank Quintana hit three homeruns on Saturday.
LYNDHURST, N.J. – Felician College senior Frank Quintana (Miami, FL/South Miami) hit three homeruns during his team’s doubleheader sweep of visiting Philadelphia University, 8-4 and 5-4, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference baseball action Saturday afternoon at Breslin Field.

In Game 1, Quintana hit two-run homers to centerfield in each of his first two at-bats to give Felician (15-18, 4-5) a 4-0 edge after three innings. The Golden Falcons would go on to lead, 8-0, through five. Starter William Senna (Wallingford, CT/Sheehan) (4-0) was the beneficiary of the early offense, allowing one run on six hits in 6 1/3 innings to earn the win. Senna struck out five batters and walked three.

Quintana finished 2 for 2 with three runs scored and four driven in, and Thomas DiPietro (Staten Island, NY/Susan Wagner) went 3 for 4 with two RBI. Keith Heck (Cherry Hill, NJ/Camden Catholic) was 2 for 5 with a homer for Philadelphia.

Scott VanEs (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) entered to strike out the final batter of the game with the potential tying run on third base to pick up his first save of the season in the nightcap. The out completed 2 2/3 innings of shutout relief by the Felician bullpen in support of Nick Riker (Highlands, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) (2-1), who allowed two earned runs on nine hits over 6 1/3.

The Golden Falcon offense again struck early, taking a 5-1 lead after three innings, including Quintana’s round-tripper leading off the third. But the Rams (8-18, 3-6) scored twice in the sixth inning and got an RBI single from Heck in the seventh, while receiving three shutout innings of relief from Kyle Noonan (Morristown, NJ/Morristown) to stay close.

Felician’s Dave Schoer (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) had a two-run single and teammate Jordan Noval (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan, NJ) an RBI double. Devin Conroy (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) was 3 for 4 for Philadelphia, which owned a 12-6 hit advantage.
