NYACK, N.Y. -- Two Nyack College pitchers combined on a four-hitter in the Warriors' 6-2 CACC baseball victory over visiting Felician College on Wednesday night at Nyack High School.
Nyack freshman Phil Messerian (Fair Lawn, NJ) (2-1) struck out 10 batters over seven-plus innings, yielding two runs (one earned) on three hits. He struck out the first five Golden Falcons hitters. Jason Mulero (Bronx, NY) came in from center field to get the final six outs.
After scoring a single run in the first, the Warriors (5-22, 3-5) knocked out Felician starter Kevin Ernst (Manalapan, NJ) (0-2) with a three-run fifth. Ernst allowed six hits, struck out six and walked four in 4 2/3. Nyack tacked on two unearned runs in the sixth.
Billy Gleason (Hollywood, FL) went 3 for 3 with a double and three runs batted for Nyack. Frank Quintana (Miami, FL) had a two run double for the Golden Falcons (13-18, 2-5).
