LYNDHURST, N.J. – Caldwell College scored 12 runs in the final three innings of its 14-6 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference baseball victory over host Felician College on Tuesday afternoon at Breslin Field.

Trailing 4-2, Caldwell (10-6, 2-1) put its first eight runners on base in the top of the seventh inning off of two Felician relievers. Tommy Murphy (Monroe, NY/Washingtonville) drew his team within one with an RBI single, but was thrown out attempting to score on a hit two batters later. The Cougars, however, got the tying run on a bases-loaded wild pitch, and Raymond Keelan (Barnegat, NJ/Southern Regional) followed with a two-run single over a drawn-in infield. Chris Chiarappa (Elmont, NY/Holy Trinity) capped the five-run rally with an RBI single.

Felician (11-16, 1-3) pulled within 7-6 in the bottom of the seventh on a two-run triple by Vinnie DiBenedetti (Forked River, NJ/Lacey Township). But the Cougars’ Billy Ryan (Toms River, NJ/Manchester) hit a two-out, three-run homerun in the eighth, and Caldwell tacked on four more runs in the ninth.

Keelan went 3 for 6 as Caldwell outhit the Golden Falcons, 18-7. Murphy was 2 for 5 with a double and three RBI. Robert Casal (Howard Beach, NY/St. Francis Prep) (4-1) allowed four earned runs and struck out five over 6 1/3 innings, and Buddy Riggs (Coral Springs, FL/Taravella) pitched 2 2/3 hitless innings for his third save.

Felician starter Kevin Ernst (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) allowed one earned run over six innings in a no-decision. Marcos Torres (Miami, FL/South Miami) hit his first collegiate homer, a two-run shot in the second.
