Felician Athletics - 3/12/07 BASEBALL - Calabrese Selected CACC Rookie Of Week

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College’s Jeff Calabrese of Freehold has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Rookie of the Week, the conference announced today.

Calabrese, a freshman pitcher, went 1-1 in three relief appearances last week. In 4 1/3 innings, he allowed one hit, one unearned run, struck out five batters and walked three. Opponents hit .071 off of him.

In a 6-3 neutral site victory over Nyack College on Friday, the 6-foot-4 right-hander pitched three perfect innings and earned the win. He has allowed just three base hits in 13 innings this season for the 8-11 Golden Falcons. Calabrese is a 2006 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy.

Also on Monday, senior designated hitter Ray Rose (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) and junior pitcher John Brady (Bricktown, NJ/Brick Memorial) were named to the CACC’s Weekly Honor Roll. More information is available here.
