LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Freshman Sherry Flynn's (Oakland, NJ) first collegiate shutout led Felician College to a 2-0 Game 2 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan College and a sweep of the teams' non-conference doubleheader on Thursday night at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex. A run-scoring single by Nicole Degenhardt (Secaucus, NJ) in the bottom of the eighth inning lifted Felician to a 5-4 win in Game 1.

In the nightcap, the Golden Falcons (5-2) scored both their runs on the same play in the top of the sixth inning. Heather Van Dyke (West Milford, NJ) singled with one out, and circled all the way around to third base on sister Hope Van Dyke's (West Milford, NJ) infield single. On the throw to third, Hope Van Dyke advanced to second. A Meredith Rainer (Wantage, NJ) grounder plated the game's first run, and a throwing error on the play allowed a second run to score.

Flynn allowed five hits and four walks and struck out four Bobcat hitters. WVWC loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh on an error, hit and walk, but Flynn retired the last two hitters on a strikeout and ground ball back to her to preserve the victory.

Degenhardt's walk-off single scored pinch-runner Brittany Taylor (Saddle Brook, NJ), with one out and the international tiebreaker in effect, to win the opener. The Golden Falcons had forced extra innings with a two-run rally in the bottom of the seventh, scoring on Heather Van Dyke's RBI single and a game-tying two-out double by Rainer off the center fielder's glove.

Dara DeSocio (Cliffside Park, NJ) (2-0) earned a complete-game victory, striking out three and scattering eight hits. She kept the runner placed on second base in the eighth-inning tiebreaker from advancing any further. Degenhardt and Heather Van Dyke were each 3 for 4, as was Brook Catanese for the Bobcats.
