MELBOURNE, Fla. -- Florida Institute of Technology scored single runs in each of the last three innings for a come-from-behind 7-6 non-conference baseball victory over visiting Felician College on Tuesday afternoon at Hall/Seminick Field.
With the scored tied, 6-6, FIT pinch-hitter Eamonn Powers (Staten Island, NY) drew a leadoff walk in the bottom of the ninth inning of off Felician reliever Jeff Calabrese (Freehold, NJ) (2-1). Power advanced to second on a fielding error and to third on a Calabrese balk, and was plated on a walk-off single by pinch-hitter Kevin Villa (Miami, FL). Felician had taken a two-run lead in the top of the seventh on a Ray Rose (Piscataway, NJ) sacrifice fly and a run-scoring double from Chris Flynn (Keyport, NJ).
Jody Danca (Naples, FL) pitched 2 1/3 of hitless relief to earn the victory for Florida Tech. Teammate Sam Palace (Clarkston, MI) was 2 for 3 with a double and three runs batted in. Flynn and Vinnie DiBenedetti (Forked River, NJ) had two hits apiece for the Golden Falcons (6-7). |
