WATERBURY, Conn. -- The Felician men's basketball team was eliminated from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament by host Post University, 78-71, in a quarterfinal game on Tuesday night at the Drubner Center.
Post (17-11), the No. 2 seed, outscored No. 7 Felician, 24-12, over the first 11 minutes of the second half, extending a 41-38 halftime advantage to 65-50. The Golden Falcons answered with an 11-2 run, and later closed to within five points twice in the final two minutes, but never drew closer. The Eagles improved to 13-0 at home this season.
Jesse Iyalekhue paced four double-figure scorers for Post with 20 points. Michael Pierrot had 25 points and 12 rebounds and Sydir Mitchell also scored 25 points for Felician, which finishes 12-16. The Eagles owned a 49-34 rebounding advantage, including 21-8 on the offensive glass. |
