RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College’s Frank Quintana of Miami, Fla., has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Player of the Week, the conference announced today.
Quintana, a senior first-baseman, hit .562 and slugged 1.312 during a 3-1 week for Felician. He drove in 10 runs and scored six in the four games, and six of his nine hits went for extra bases. He also stole four bases in five attempts.
In an 11-10 neutral-site victory over Queens (N.Y.) College on Saturday, Quintana hit a go-ahead three-run homerun in the bottom of the eighth inning. It was his second homer of the game and third in two games that day. The Golden Falcons’ all-time homerun leader with 23, he is a 2003 graduate of South Miami High. Today’s award was the first weekly honor handed out by the CACC for the 2007 season.
