RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College seniors Michael Pierrot of Melville, N.Y., and Sydir Mitchell of Paterson have been named to the 2007 All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Team, according to balloting released today.
Pierrot, a center, was a First Team selection. He is averaging 20.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and a league-best 2.34 blocked shots per game. He ranks second in the CACC in rebounding and third in scoring and field-goal percentage (.548). He is in third place on Felician’s all-time scoring list with 1,227 career points. Pierrot is a 2003 graduate of Half Hollow Hills East.
Mitchell, in his second season at Felician, earned Third Team honors. He ranks fourth in the CACC in scoring with 18.4 points per game and also averages 5.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists. Mitchell began his scholastic career at Paterson Catholic before graduating in 2003 from Bloomfield High. Pierrot and Mitchell have combined for 50.6 percent of Felician’s points this season.
The Golden Falcons have a won-lost record of 12-15, and finished tied for sixth in the CACC with a 10-10 league mark. They reached the CACC playoffs for the sixth consecutive season, and play at Post University on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Felician has had 10 student-athletes attain all-CACC status this academic year.
