Felician Athletics - 2/25/07 MEN'S BASKETBALL - Felician Draws Post In CACC First Round

RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Felician men's basketball team has qualified for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament for the sixth consecutive year.

Coach Del Harrison's Felician squad is the No. 7 seed in the eight-team, single-elimination event, and will travel to No. 2 seed Post University (16-11, 14-6) for its first-round game on Tuesday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Waterbury, Conn.

Felician (12-15, 10-10) finished in a three-way tie for sixth place, and drew the No. 7 seed by finishing second in in the tiebreaker with University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and Dominican College. Senior Michael Pierrot averages 20.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.34 blocks, and classmate Sydir Mitchell contributes 18.4 points per game.

Post ended up in a three-way tie for first place, and finished second in a seeding tiebreaker with Philadelphia University and Holy Family University. Arthur Robertson paces the Eagles with 13.2 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest.

The winners of Tuesday's game earns a semifinal date with the Holy Family-USP winner on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in Orangeburg, N.Y.
